Never forget that a gun has the potential to cause serious injury or death in a careless moment. Make safe gun handling a habit that must be followed at all times. Once you determine that a gun is unloaded, continue to treat it as if it were loaded.

When choosing a safe direction, you must also consider that a bullet can ricochet or bounce off any object it hits, and that bullets can penetrate walls, ceilings, floors, and windows.

3) Keep your finger off the gun's trigger guard and off the trigger until you have set the gun's sights on a safe target and made the decision to fire.

By keeping your finger completely off the trigger guard until you aim, you guarantee that all shots you fire will travel safely to your intended target.

Remember that a bullet can travel up to several miles, so you need to be sure what the bullet can hit before you pull the trigger. Never shoot at a movement, a noise, a flash of color, or a rustle of brush without positively identifying your target. On 02.01.2018, exactly at 09:00. EST, Glock announced its newest arrival, the Glock 19X. And since its release on the 22nd of the same month, it has seen so many mixed reviews. Before we get into the Glock 19X compared to the Glock 19 Gen 5, it is essential to understand why the 19X was designed.

The G19X pistol is the commercial version of the Glock MHS that is designed to meet the US Army Modular Pistol System requirements ratings. In other words, the model was developed to compete for the contract with the US military, which Glock almost won. The only difference between the commercial and military versions is that the G19X does not include a manual thumb safety.

Focus On Glock 19x

On 02.01.2018, exactly at 09:00. EST, Glock announced its newest arrival, the Glock 19X. And since its release on the 22nd of the same month, it has seen so many mixed reviews.

The G19X comes in a standard Glock case, but in a different desert bronze color, which Glock says is called Coyote. The pistol comes with a single standard 17-round magazine and two extended 19-round magazines. It also comes with four additional back strap offers that you can add to the standard handle, which is the smaller strap. Then there's a magazine loader, brush, cleaning rod and owner's manual; standard components in a Glock case.

The overall design hasn't really changed from the original Glock model, but there are some notable changes. For the most part, the G19X has a somewhat odd design, featuring a G19-length slide and a long G17 frame, and of course, the desert bronze (coyote) color. Like a fresher, more compact version of the Colt Commander.

Aside from slide length, the G19X and G19-5 have several other identical features. Both have the same springs and dual barrels called the GLOCK Marksman Barrel, or GMB for short, which Glock says offers increased accuracy with an improved barrel crown and improved polygonal compression. Both have the same trigger weights, bidirectional slide locks, their internals are nearly identical, and both have no finger grooves, which is a significant improvement over the Gen 4s.

New Year, New Glocks

The G19X comes with the nPVD coated slide, it looks much better compared to the black melon finish which is treated with a nDLC coating. Where the G19X really deviates from the G19-5 and other Gen 5 guns is the frame. It doesn't have that flared magazine that messes up grip on the G19-5, and it also adds a unique rope loop that was specified by the military when Glock was competing for the MHS contract. If you're not a fan of the cord loop, you may want to remove it. The magazine fit is also better than the G19-5, and because there is no additional notch and flare on the edge of the case, the G19-5 magazine does not fit in the G19X.

When it comes to performance, then you should go with the G19X. The 17+1 magazine grip frame offers enough space for a firm grip that fills your hands very well. Those with large hands will find the G19X a better model to have on the gun range, allowing you a more relaxed grip. This improves overall balance, improved controllability and therefore better accuracy over the G19-5.

Why most people have a problem with the G19X is because of the extra half inch of grip frame. It can be a little difficult to function as a carry gun, but you have to remember that the G19X is designed for combat. Even at range, having the luxury of an extra 2 round capacity is a luxury you shouldn't give up.

In the end, it all depends on you. The Glock 19X is a pretty solid piece of equipment, and your decision to buy it depends on what you plan to use it for. If you plan to shoot several thousand rounds four to five times a week, then it's a great option. If you want to use it to protect your home, then it is also a reliable part. Or maybe you just want to add it to your firearms collection! If you are looking for a stealth weapon, then the G19 Gen 5 may be more suitable. Conversely, the shorter slide of the G19X could be perfect for the accessory carry option.
